Project Description

Project Completion: 2018
Project Purpose

As a particularly bad hurricane approached the eastern seaboard, my client's institution decided it needed a way to keep track of where students would be sheltering for extreme weather and other emergency situations. This form allowed for students to submit and update personal evacuation locations, as well as "check-in" when they had safely returned to campus.

Development Time

2 - 3 days

How It Works

After logging in, students are asked to provide their contact information as well as their evacuation location. If students were sheltering in place on campus, they were asked to specify that in the form. After the emergency situation had passed, students were then instructed to return to the evacuation page to "check-in". Checking-in allowed the institution to identify students who had returned to campus and those who had not. Email notifications were sent to students and administrators for each step (location submission and check-in).
